Many studios require proof of insurance before allowing an apprentice to teach on their floor. Securing your policy early ensures you never miss a teaching opportunity.

Studio & Clinic Protection
Protecting Your Space and Staff
Managing a facility requires a different level of oversight and protection. Our partnership with Marsh & Trisura provides tailored solutions for Pilates studios and clinical environments, ensuring that your business, your assets, and your team are protected against the unexpected.
Core Policy Guidelines
Individual Policy per Location: To ensure comprehensive coverage, each physical location requires its own dedicated policy. Even if you own multiple studios or clinics under the same brand, each site must be insured independently to address specific location-based risks and lease requirements.
Employees vs. Independent Contractors: * Employees: Staff members hired on an employee basis are generally covered under the studio’s primary professional liability policy while working on-site.
Contractors: Every independent contractor operating within your facility must carry their own individual professional liability policy. The studio policy does not extend coverage to third-party contractors; verifying their active CPMS registration and insurance is a critical step in your risk management.

Choosing Your Liability Limit
Limit Options
Recommended For
$2 Million Liability
Independent studios with a consistent client base and standard lease agreements.
$5 Million Liability
Multi-apparatus clinics, studios hosting teacher trainings, or facilities in high-traffic commercial zones with strict insurance mandates.
Coverage Tiers & Educational Impacts
The cost of your premium is influenced by the scope of services provided at your facility. It is important to disclose your business model accurately to ensure your policy is valid:
Service-Based Studios: Policies for studios focused on providing classes and private sessions to the general community.
Teacher Training & Certification Hubs: If your studio facilitates a certification program or instructor curriculum, there is a recognized difference in cost and coverage. These policies include additional indemnity for the increased risk associated with teacher training and student supervision.
Clinical Environments: For clinics offering rehabilitative Pilates, policies are adjusted to cover the complexities of clinical repertoire and therapeutic outcomes.
Business Owner Note:
Maintaining a safe environment is the foundation of "building the community." Ensure your studio's National Registry profile is updated with your current insurance certificates for each location to maintain your standing with the CPMS.
Please have your location details and staff/contractor list ready for the application process.
